The Quarry Venue Wedding Photos in Knoxville, Tennessee

If you are searching for a stone quarry wedding venue in Tennessee, The Quarry Venue in Knoxville is one of the most unique options you will find.

The venue sits inside a historic marble quarry in West Knoxville. Instead of a traditional barn or ballroom, you get natural stone, greenery, wooded areas, and several very different backgrounds for wedding photos.

I photographed this boho inspired wedding at The Quarry, and there was no shortage of places to create something different.

From getting ready and first looks to the ceremony, couple portraits, and reception, here is what a wedding at The Quarry Venue in Knoxville can actually look like.

What Makes The Quarry Venue So Unique?

The biggest difference is right there in the name.

This is not a wedding venue designed to look like a quarry.

It is a historic marble quarry.

The property still shows pieces of Knoxville’s marble history, while the wedding spaces bring in a more polished feel.

That mix is what makes The Quarry so interesting in photos.

You can have stone and greenery in one part of your gallery, then move into a completely different setting for the next part of the day.

For couples who love nature but do not want the typical East Tennessee barn wedding, The Quarry offers something very different.

What The Quarry Venue Looks Like in Wedding Photos

One of the best things about photographing a wedding here is variety.

A full wedding gallery does not have to look like every photo was taken against the same background.

The property gave us options for:

  • Getting ready photos
  • Wedding detail photos
  • First looks
  • Wedding party portraits
  • Bride and groom portraits
  • Outdoor ceremony photos
  • Reception photos
  • More natural portraits surrounded by greenery and stone

That variety matters.

Your wedding gallery should tell the story of one day without every part of the day looking exactly the same.

Getting Ready at The Quarry Venue

The getting ready space gave us beautiful natural light for the beginning of the day.

For this wedding, I photographed the bridal details first and then moved into getting ready photos and first looks.

The large mirror and nearby natural light worked especially well for portraits.

This is also where some of the more emotional moments happened before the ceremony.

The bride shared a first look with her dad, her son, and then her groom.

Those moments are a good reminder that a first look does not have to be limited to your partner.

If there is someone important to you, we can build a few quiet minutes into your timeline for that moment too.

Boho Wedding Details at The Quarry

This wedding leaned heavily into a bohemian style.

The neutral tones, dried florals, greenery, textures, and earthy details worked incredibly well against the natural setting of the quarry.

That is one reason The Quarry works with so many different wedding styles.

You do not have to decorate every inch of the property.

The stone, trees, and textures already give you a strong backdrop.

Your details can add personality without having to create the entire atmosphere from scratch.

Wedding Party Photos at a Stone Quarry Wedding Venue

Wedding party photos can easily become one of the most repetitive parts of a wedding gallery.

At The Quarry, we were able to change locations and use the property itself to give the photos more variety.

The natural landscape works especially well for larger groups because there is enough visual interest behind everyone without needing a complicated setup.

We also had room for both the traditional group photos and the more relaxed photos where everyone could actually have fun together.

Bride and Groom Photos at The Quarry Venue

This is where The Quarry really shines for photography.

There are so many different textures around the property that your couple portraits can change completely just by walking to another area.

Some portraits feel lush and natural.

Others show off the stone and quarry setting.

And some focus much more closely on the couple.

That gives us the ability to create both wide photos that show where you got married and close photos that are completely about the two of you.

I always want both in a wedding gallery.

You chose a beautiful venue for a reason.

Your photos should show it.

But your venue should never become more important than the people in the photograph.

An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at The Quarry

The ceremony was one of my favorite parts of this wedding.

The natural surroundings gave the ceremony plenty of character without needing to cover the space in decorations.

That is one of the biggest advantages of getting married somewhere with such a distinctive landscape.

Your ceremony can still feel intentional and designed, but you do not have to fight against a blank background.

Then, once the ceremony is over, we are already surrounded by portrait locations.

There is no need to load everyone into cars and lose part of your wedding day traveling somewhere else just to take photos.

The Quarry Venue Reception

After the ceremony and portraits, everyone moved into the reception.

The boho details continued inside with neutral tones, florals, greenery, and plenty of texture.

And yes, this wedding included a live band.

The reception felt completely different from the outdoor portions of the day, which is another reason I like having both indoor and outdoor spaces available at one venue.

Your gallery gets another visual change without your guests needing to travel to a second location.

Is The Quarry Venue Right for Your Wedding?

I think The Quarry is especially worth considering if you want a wedding venue that feels connected to nature but does not feel like every other rustic wedding venue in Tennessee.

It could be a great fit if you love:

  • Natural stone and greenery
  • Outdoor ceremonies
  • Unique wedding venues
  • Multiple portrait locations
  • A mix of natural and polished spaces
  • Wedding photos with texture and depth
  • A venue that already has plenty of character

If you have been searching for a stone quarry wedding venue, this is exactly the type of property that term describes.

It feels very different from a barn, cabin, hotel ballroom, or traditional country estate.

Tips for Wedding Photos at The Quarry Venue

If you are planning your own wedding here, there are a few things I would recommend from a photography standpoint.

Leave Time to Explore the Property

Do not schedule couple portraits so tightly that we only have time to use one location.

One of the biggest advantages of The Quarry is the variety.

Even an extra 15 or 20 minutes can give us a completely different set of portraits.

Consider a First Look

A first look can give us more time for wedding party photos and couple portraits before the ceremony.

It can also give you a few quiet minutes together before the rest of the day gets busy.

You do not have to do one, but it can work especially well at a venue with several portrait locations.

Keep Your Details Together

Before photography coverage begins, put your rings, invitation suite, shoes, jewelry, perfume, vow books, and other important details together.

That allows me to photograph everything efficiently instead of spending time searching for individual items.

Build Breathing Room Into Your Timeline

You do not need to spend your entire wedding day taking pictures.

A good timeline should actually help you spend less time worrying about photos.

When we leave a little breathing room around portraits, family photos, and the ceremony, we can work without making your day feel rushed.

The Quarry Venue Wedding Photography FAQ

Where is The Quarry Venue?

The Quarry Venue is located in West Knoxville, Tennessee.

You can see everything from bridal details and getting ready photos to first looks, wedding party portraits, the ceremony, couple portraits, and the reception.

This wedding had a strong boho style, but the venue does not have to be used that way.

Because the stone and natural surroundings already provide texture, couples can take the design in several directions.

Your colors, florals, attire, tablescape, and other details can change the overall feel quite a bit.

Do we have to leave The Quarry for wedding portraits?

You certainly can if there is another location that means something to you, but you do not need to leave simply to find good portrait locations.

There are plenty of photography options on the property itself.

Looking for The Quarry Venue Photos Before You Book?

If that is how you found this post, I hope these photos helped you picture what an actual wedding day here can look like.

Looking at venue photos taken during real weddings can tell you things that an empty venue tour cannot.

You can see how the ceremony photographs with guests in the seats.

You can see what the reception looks like once the tables are set.

You can see where portraits can happen.

And you can get a better idea of how one location will look throughout an entire wedding day.

Choosing your venue is one of the biggest decisions you will make during wedding planning.

Choosing the person who photographs everything that happens there matters too.
