One of our favorite weddings this year was this INCREDIBLE boho-themed wedding at Hunter Valley Farm Pavilion in Knoxville, Tennessee. We had so many laughs throughout the day, the weather was perfect, and love was absolutely in the air. The first set of photos in this series are detail photos of the ceremony and reception areas. The intricate detailing is so amazing, and of course we had to capture it all!
Ceremony and Reception Details
Getting Ready in the Hunter Valley Farm Bridal Suite
The bridal suite at Hunter Valley Farm Pavilion is absolutely stunning. It features a gorgeous emerald chair (which is perfect for sitting photos), several mirrors, multiple bathrooms, any emergency items. We had many laughs in this room, like when Taylor’s garter broke. And then her other garter broke.
How They Met
Taylor and Jean net at work. She was a single mom, bartending at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort when Jean was offered an internship there through his Culinary Arts program in Puerto Rico. Since the resort is right in the middle of The Smoky Mountains, it was pretty common for wildlife to frequent the resort. One night, Taylor went to buss a table on the patio and a raccoon was on top of it staring at her. She bursted though the kitchen doors screaming and that was the first interaction she had with Jean. After a few months, Jean completed his internship and was offered a full time position. So, he decided to pack everything up and move to Tennessee permanently. They grew closer and fell in love. They ended up moving in together and having a son together. So Jean went from a college student, to a step father, to a father of two, and then a husband.
How He Proposed
Jean, Taylor’s family, and Taylor went on a family vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida. As they were driving, Taylor actually pointed out a Kay Jeweler sign to Jean and said “hey there ya go. That’s what I want” I had NO idea he was planning to propose. He actually asked permission from each and every one of Taylor’s family members including her dad, mom, grandparents, brother, and aunts. Then on the beach one night in front of her family, he popped the question.
Color Palette and Style Vision
Taylor always dreamt of a fall wedding, but she didn’t want to do the standard oranges, reds, and sunflowers. They decided to go with Navy and Burgundy/wine as their main colors with pops of peach, champagne, white, and lots of greenery to lighten it up.
One thing we asks all of our couples after the wedding, is to give a piece of advice for those couples currently planning their wedding. Taylor said, “Don’t stress out. Everything WILL fall into place. I was told this 800 times and I wish I would’ve listened! Because everything did fall into place and it was perfect.”
