One of the most fun and relaxed intimate weddings I’ve ever shot, was the Bogardus wedding at Hearthside Cabin Rentals last month! Everyone was extremely nice, and I found out the bride (Amber) is actually a food blogger! How cool is that? I have asked her to write some words for their wedding blog post, so here’s what she had to say about her day.
Amber’s Story Through Her Eyes
Sometimes little things are just meant to be. My new husband, John, and I had initially planned a rather small gathering for our 2020 wedding with just about 35 members of ours closest family and friends, completely unknowing what 2020 would bring. As our wedding grew closer, the pandemic became more and more unpredictable. We stayed positive, and we were going to make the best out of a rather unexpected situation. When it was finally time for the wedding, we had a cabin full of our closest family and friends (with just a few members missing for obvious reasons), but our hearts were full. At 6:00 PM on August 29th, we had a beautiful ceremony with the incredible backdrop of the Tennessee Smoky Mountains. We were so blessed to have an incredible set of vendors who helped us pull off our beautiful event.
Vendor Appreciation
When we made the decision months ago to hire Ashlyn from Willow + Rove, we had no idea just how great of a decision we had made. We had seen her work and knew we wanted something a bit freeform, organic, and “unposed”. She seemed like the perfect choice from her portfolio. Ashlyn captured every moment just perfectly. We have hundreds of photos of laughter, big beautiful smiles, and organic, unfiltered joy. She even took several photos of all of the “details” around the wedding: our décor, food, and florals. These types of images were incredibly important to me, as I have a creative business myself – a food blog. I had no idea how much I’d cherish being able to share my absolute favorite day, and all of the amazing little details, with friends and family far and wide.
We’re so happy to have our little collection of Ashlyn’s work to remind us of this sweet time in our lives. After every big hurdle that 2020 has thrown our way, some little things were just meant to be.
These two had some phenomenal vendors!
