Eloping can be whatever you want it to be. You can be spontaneous, running to the court house the day that you make your decision. Or, you can plan ahead, book tickets and bring only your closest friends. But probably my favorite type of elopement is what Cassie and Chris had at their Christopher Place elopement. Just the two of them, all dressed up and ready to say “I-do” in one of the most elegant locations in Tennessee.
Cassie & Chris
Getting to know Chris and Cassie was an absolute pleasure! They came to Newport, Tennessee all by themselves for a true elopement! They chose to elope at Christopher Place, but before I jump into the wedding day and gorgeous venue, I first want to share Cassie’s words.
“A mutual friend of ours living in Chicago knew we were within an hour of each other in Ohio. With all three of us being single, our friend decided we were all going out together: She and I were going to be wingmen. Before we all went out, our mutual friend decided the two of us should meet. She realized, knowing both of us so well, being each other’s wingman wasn’t going to work. …She was right. Within hours of meeting each other, we decided we were going to be each other’s wingman…just in a different way. Fast forward a few months, and here we are.” -Cassie
Christopher Place
This colonial-style mansion is tucked into the Smokey Mountains near Gatlinburg and is everything you could possibly want for your wedding day! There is a grand stair case, a darling porch, and gorgeous gardens. The mansion is actually a bed and breakfast that has a variety of different rooms with unique features. So, after you elope you wont have to go far to get to the honeymoon!
Gardens
The Christopher Place elopement venue had such elegant and well maintained gardens. The variety of trees and greenery really added a magical element to their wedding photos, that I just adore! It was positively romantic and really set the vibe for the entire day. I also love these stunning white pillars that mimic the colonial time period of the mansion. Such a great touch that took this particular spot in the gardens to the next level!
Colonial Mansion Porch
I cannot get enough of this porch! It is seriously what my southern dreams are made of! The white of the pillars and ceiling that contrasts with the red brick and black light fixtures creates such a stunning and simple spot for bridals. It was bright and airy while also having a feeling of warmth and comfort. The photos turned out absolutely timeless and beyond romantic!
Another neat feature on the outside of Christopher Place was this little balcony that was right above the front door. It was big enough for two people to fit comfortably with plenty of room. Cassie and Chris looked stunning on the balcony. And I thought that the American flag that hung at the front the railing was perfect for this Christopher Place elopement since Chris is in the military!
Grand Staircase
When you walk in Christopher Place you will be greeted by the most stunning stair case that wraps all the way around! It is grounded by a beautiful star patterned tile, and is so dreamy. And the cherry on top of this foyer is the giant chandelier hanging in the middle of the staircase! The elegance of this room alone is outstanding and is sure to impress.
Fire Place
Looking for more old school classic vibes? This Christopher Place elopement had exactly that with this grand fireplace! The detailing on the mantle and the luxury quality of the furniture really made the space as a whole a statement. It was classic, sophisticated and powerful. These are words I normally wouldn’t use to describe wedding photos, but they are the kind of wedding photos that I now think everyone deserves to have!
The Bar
This bar brought so much sex appeal! I love the cabinets of liquor and wine that surround the bar itself. As well as the sophisticated elegant florals on the curtains. There is something just so sexy about having such a timeless, yet vibrant, couple in such an old world spot. And then, add the chemistry that Chris and Cassie had, and you have yourself the perfect photo!
The Ceremony
It is the moment we have all been waiting for! Chris and Cassie were married in an open green space on the Christopher Place property that over looked the Smokies. It was such an intimate ceremony with just the two of them holding hands in front of their officiant.
It was beautiful the way that Cassie and Chris looked at each other. Although they had only known each other for a short amount of time, it was as if they knew each other their entire lives. My favorite part of the ceremony had to have been when the officiant cracked a joke and Chris and Cassie gave the most genuine laughs! It was romantic and fun, just like the two of them!
Getting to be part of Cassie and Chris’s wedding day was such an honor. I am so grateful that they decided to tie the knot in such a gorgeous part of our country and to let me tag along to capture it all! Christopher Place is romantic, dreamy and sophisticated and I cannot wait to go back! Whether you are eloping into the Great Smoky Mountains, or getting married in your hometown, I would be honored to capture your love and all the little details! Let’s connect and make this happen!
